Daniel Ricciardo crashed in qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix – then had technical problems in the race

Italian authorities say they have foiled an elaborate plan to steal the body of Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari, who died in 1988.

Race director Charlie Whiting says the aborted start at Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix was because of uncertainty caused by a warning light triggered by a marshal.

Daniel Ricciardo says there is no obvious reason why Red Bull started the season so far adrift of Ferrari and Mercedes.

Drivers can no longer afford a ‘coffee break’ when reacting to errors because of the pace of the 2017 cars, says McLaren’s Fernando Alonso.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is braced for a tougher challenge from Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel than he had last year battling team-mate Nico Rosberg.
